Tonie Botha
Tonie completed his Diploma in Police Science, a diploma in Security Management, a MA in Strategic studies and is currently busy with his D.Phil in Security Studies at the University of Pretoria. In 1990 he completed an advanced course on the investigation of Serious Commercial Crime, fraud, corruption, exchange control regulations and all investigations related to banks, financial institutions and related statutory offences. He assisted and worked with the FBI in the USA on an investigation pertaining to transnational fraud committed in the US and South Africa.
He was an Investigative consultant for Bowman Gilfillan at the Anti Corruption Task Team (ACTT) component of the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) since early 2011, mostly involved with investigations into allegations of fraud and mismanagement.
His areas of expertise are:
- Commercial crime and Forensic Investigations
- Investigation into Financial Mismanagement, PFMA and Public Sector Acts, Supply Chain Management Irregularities
- Investigation of Foreign Exchange Contraventions, Trans-border Organized Crime and Money Laundering
- Security Management, Project Management and Research pertaining to State and organizational Security.
